Artist, Author, Educator

Heather Dickinson is a somewhat feral teaching artist in Eastern Washington, where she scribbles poetry in the margins of her illustrated sketchbooks. Her (current) favorite mediums to work in are ballpoint pen with colored pencil, watercolor, and oil pastel. When she is not drawing or composing her next pastoral poem or psalm, her days are spent discipling the next generation of creatives in Catholic education.

In her spare time, she enjoys studying swordsmanship (especially lightsaber), devoting herself to prayer, going hiking and camping with her children, and geeking out over plants, museums, sci-fi, and science-y things.

Heather has been an avid blogger since 2003. Currently, she publishes a newsletter on Substack, featuring her artwork, photography, poetry, and creative encouragement, along with a microblog on Substack Notes.

Out in the Wild

One of Heather's favorite things to do is to create illustrated zines to disseminate amongst little free libraries, coffeeshops, and mail to whomever would like a copy or two. Paid subscribers to her newsletter may opt-in to receive free zine copies as they are released.
